Sobia Hussain is a professional soap artisan and creative director of The Olive Tree Soap Company based in Toronto, Canada. Inspired by nature and its healing elements, she has created distinct formulas for a wide variety of quality artisanal skincare products as a natural alternative with an eco-conscience influence. She has collaborated with well-known companies including Tetley Tea on the launch of their specialty natural tea collection at Trump Hotel and has had her products featured on the Canadian national television show, Cityline on CityTV.
When not soapmaking, Sobia is a passionate freelance writer for various international publications including: HalalFoodie Magazine, Canada; My Halal Kitchen, USA; Halal Gems, UK; And, Productive Muslim, UK. She is also Editor of Muslim Gift Guide by Peter Gould, Australia.
Sobia conducts creative Discovery Workshops designed for children to help discover their inner talents and inspire creativity through exploration in areas of science and art influenced by the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) movement. She is currently running a local upscale store, Kaamilah Boutique, in Toronto with a talented team of Muslim women entrepreneurs.
On her free time, Sobia loves to explore art expression through watercolour painting and photography. She’s currently in the works of launching a collection of whimsical illustrations, so watch this page! Sobia draws much of her creative inspiration from faith, nature, travel, art and science.
