The Arts intersects with Islam at the upcoming Ilm Arts Festival in Melbourne. With the aim of inspiring positive action and celebrating the unique power of the arts to transform our society for good.
The Ilm Arts Festival (IAF) is a groundbreaking event, bringing together artists from a range of disciplines like spoken word, graffiti, hip-hop, installation art, illustration, graphic design, and nasheed. There will be awesome artists coming together from around to globe to share their talents in Australia.
The inaugural IAF was held in Kuala Lumpur in 2015, and this time they’re bringing all the action to Australia. The brainchild of businessman and philanthropist Sajid Hussain, and supported by Artistic Director Muhammad Ali, the IAF was a huge hit in Kuala Lumpur featuring creatives the likes of Peter Sanders, Amir Sulaiman, Mizz Nina, Omar Regan, Hannah Habibi, Jordan Richter, Zain Bhikha, Mishary Al-Afasy, and more!!
This year in Melbourne they have an equally awesome lineup of international and Australian artists. These include Aerosol Arabic, Peter Gould, Aseel Tayah, Faisal Salah, Kamal Saleh, and Azhar Usman. You can also get the chance to perform on the same stage and showcase your talents with the Muslim Talent Search!
The festival features theatrical performances, compelling accounts from artists speaking of their journey to the arts, and a curated exhibition. Make sure you book your tickets for this awesome event here, and we’ll see you there!
